Privacy Policy

PaxCinerama (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a group movie night planning app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is stored and used.

PaxCinerama uses Google OAuth for sign-in. We do not store your Google password. The sign-in flow is handled by Supabase and Google. Please review their privacy policies for details on how they handle authentication data.

When you sign in, we store the following information from your Google account:

• Email address
• Display name
• Profile photo URL

We also store content you create while using the app:

• Your movie list and status for each movie
• Groups you create or join
• Movie night nominations and votes

If you enable push notifications in the PaxCinerama mobile app, we store a device push token on our servers. This token is used solely to deliver in-app notifications (e.g. when a group member nominates a movie or voting is complete). It is never used for marketing or shared with third parties. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings.

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Data is stored on servers in the US and EU. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• TMDB (The Movie Database) — we use the TMDB API to retrieve movie metadata (titles, posters, descriptions). We do not send any personal data to TMDB. TMDB Privacy Policy.
• Google Firebase — used on Android to deliver push notifications. Only the device push token is sent to Firebase to route the notification. Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — our hosting provider. Standard web request logs (IP address, user agent, request path) may be retained by Vercel per their data retention policy. Vercel Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Within the app, other members of your groups can see your display name and profile photo. Your movie list is only visible to members of groups where you have enabled list sharing.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (movie list, group memberships, nominations, votes, and push tokens) is permanently deleted within 30 days.

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at privacy@paxcinerama.com with the subject line “Delete my account”. We will process your request within 30 days.

PaxCinerama is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at privacy@paxcinerama.com.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
